The Davis Companies Inc. in Hudson, MA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support production and drive productivity improvements across assembly and testing.

You will help develop work instructions and manage ECN/ECO processes while collaborating with teams to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and specifications, improving workflows, and sustaining a library of manufacturing procedures and process documentation.

The manufacturing engineer provides a key role in supporting our production team and driving productivity and efficiency gains to the business. This role will be involved in production support, assembly tools, work instructions and manufacturing drawings/BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Understand the assembly and test processes within manufacturing to identify continuous improvements.
• Work with associates to optimize ease of assembly and workflow.
• Sustain, develop, and implement work instructions and work instruction library for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Execute ECNs that would optimize manufacturing, kitting, and assembly process.
• Support new product introductions to ensure design for manufacturing, development of process, and provide a voice in development.
• Support our Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement initiatives being actively engaged in development of CA's & CI's along with implementation.
• Ongoing assessment of tools, workstations, and fixtures available and propose/execute additions as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Analytical skills, competent technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of Solidworks
• Familiar with ECN/ECO processes.
• Background in industrial machine assembly and testing.
• Good communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, written and presentation.
• Takes initiative and can work independently.
• Able to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Requires ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, graphs and compilation of data.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering a minimum.
• Solidworks modeling and drawings.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics.
• Background in small industrial or commercial machinery manufacturing.
