Job summary

Intelletec Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and scale local manufacturing operations in Houston. The role emphasizes end‑to‑end manufacturing support, production planning, quality assurance, and process optimization for protection relays and related electronics devices.

You will collaborate with engineering, R&D, and supply chain teams to drive new product introductions, implement efficiency initiatives, and maintain ISO quality standards across facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent training and experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or operations.
  • Previous management, leadership, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing, production operations, quality systems, and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems and SAP or similar ERP platforms.

As part of its continued expansion, the organization has established a manufacturing facility in Houston. The Manufacturing Engineer will play an important role in supporting, developing, and scaling local manufacturing operations while maintaining consistency across its global facilities.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with local and remote teams to support end‑to‑end manufacturing operations, production planning, quality assurance, process optimization, vendor coordination, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in electronics manufacturing, and the ability to improve efficiency, quality, cost control, and on‑time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing and operational strategies aligned with organizational goals at the Houston facility.
  • Support production planning and ensure products are delivered on time while meeting safety, quality, and reliability standards.
  • Ensure materials, components, equipment, and production resources are available to meet manufacturing targets while maintaining efficient inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, supply chain, and quality teams to support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, product quality, waste reduction, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Optimize the utilization of personnel, equipment, tooling, and other manufacturing resources.
  • Coordinate with external manufacturing partners, vendors, and electronics manufacturing service providers.
  • Support administrative and operational requirements involving facilities, infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and health and safety.
  • Maintain ISO management systems and support related training, documentation, internal audits, and external audits.
  • Maintain manufacturing systems, operational documentation, production records, equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration activities for manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance through relevant metrics and KPIs, identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent training and relevant experience may also be considered.
  • At least eight years of experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or operations.
  • Previous management, leadership, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing, production operations, quality systems, and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes.
  • Experience collaborating with design engineering teams, vendors, manufacturing partners, and electronics manufacturing service providers.
  • Experience supporting automated test systems, circuit‑board inspection, in‑circuit programming, offline programming, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP and inventory or production management systems, including SAP or comparable platforms.
  • Strong administrative and operational knowledge covering facilities, infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and organizational quality requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience manufacturing products for the electric power, utility, protection and control, or protection‑relay industries.
  • Hands‑on experience with National Instruments LabVIEW or TestStand.
  • Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 electronic assembly inspection standards.
  • Experience supporting new or expanding manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience coordinating manufacturing activities across multiple facilities.
