Job summary

ProMach - Fogg Filler is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop efficient manufacturing systems and machining requirements for existing and new products. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality to ensure design and production meet quality standards and cost targets.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering, at least 3 years of engineering experience (packaging industry preferred), SolidWorks proficiency, and ERP experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline or equivalent, preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • 3 years engineering experience required; packaging industry preferred.
  • Experience may include machine design, tooling, controls or field maintenance.
  • Experience operating machining equipment preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth ERP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in depth investigation into processes and products as assigned by management.
  • Verifies manufacturability of new products or modifies existing ones from information provided by customer request/feedback, sales/sales engineers, manufacturing personnel or Fogg service team.
  • Acts as the liaison between Engineering and Procurement as well as Procurement and Manufacturing.
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing to determine the best design to minimize labor and overhead costs.
  • Reviews form, fit and function of product designs by utilizing SolidWorks.
  • Develops manufacturing documentation to support tooling, manufacturing and manufacturing preparation.
  • Travel may be required to support customers or suppliers as needed.
  • May be asked to travel and provide engineering field support for customer base and/or our dealer/agents, maintaining optimum quality customer service, as needed.
  • Working with Quality Control on non-conformance.

About the Role

Fogg Filler is looking for a talented and driven Manufacturing Engineer to develop efficient manufacturing systems and machining requirements. Working with engineering and manufacturing to determine the best manufacturing process for existing and new products and working with quality personnel to ensure that all quality aspects of product design and manufacturing are met by applying engineering principals. In this role we are looking for a self‑starter and performs will with a high degree of autonomy and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Performs in depth investigation into processes and products as assigned by management.
  • Utilizes sound engineering principles to verify manufacturability of new products or modify existing ones from information provided by customer request/feedback, sales/sales engineers, manufacturing personnel or Fogg service team.
  • Acts as the liaison between Engineering and Procurement as well as Procurement and Manufacturing.
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing to determine the best design to minimize labor and overhead costs.
  • Works with other engineering designers to review form, fit and function of product designs by utilizing SolidWorks.
  • Develops manufacturing documentation to support tooling, manufacturing and manufacturing preparation.
  • Able to use power and hand tools. Lifts/moves parts weighing up to 40 pounds during engineering evaluations to determine form, fit and function.
  • Initiates and coordinates development programs which will increase cost efficiency resulting in smoother workflow for manufacturing. Including testing and analysis of assemblies, processes and prototypes.
  • Contacts and when necessary, visits customers, suppliers, and agencies to obtain information relative to existing products, purchased parts, material selections, or manufacturing processes.
  • May be asked to travel and provide engineering field support for customer base and/or our dealer/agents, maintaining optimum quality customer service, as needed.
  • Working with Quality Control on non-conformance.
  • Primary Internal Contacts - Sales Department, Purchasing Department, Engineering, Manufacturing
  • External Contacts - Moderate contact with suppliers and vendors serving Fogg Filler Company. Occasional contact with customers.
Qualifications
