Job description

Join ProMach and shine. Whether you're creative, strategic, persuasive, or mechanically inclined, there’s a place for you here. Be a problem-solver, a closer, a futurist—whatever drives you.

At ProMach, you'll be challenged and rewarded as you help improve packaging performance and shape the future of automation. And we’ll be proud to have you on the journey.

Our applications engineers are self-motivated, driven individuals capable of understanding their client’s needs while considering the technical and commercial goals of the business. Our engineers work closely with sales directors and the client to fully design and develop turnkey proposals for entire production lines from processing to end of line operations. Our technical team bridges the commercial and execution sides of business, representing both client and internal brands (ProMach or OEM), weighing technical risk and applying the best solution for the client.

If you are excited about designing complex production lines with AutoCAD and controlling the entire cost estimating process of the proposal with innovation and continuous improvement, look no further.

We offer rewarding, challenging opportunities throughout the world, across multiple packaging segments. If you’re an ambitious engineer who’s energized by partnering with their clients to realize their future, we want to talk to you.

Responsibilities
  • Review and qualify client RFQ’s, drawings and specifications to determine requirements and feasibility of a project.
  • Interact with clients defining scope, clarifying technical risk, and creating RFI (request for information) questions to accurately design the line.
  • Travel to client sites for project evaluation and presentation; this may include measuring to define ranges and technical presentation with both factory and corporate staff.
  • Liaise with management, sales, project management and engineering during design.
  • Prepare proposals including detailed layout drawings using AutoCAD and proposal documentation in conjunction with the integrated OEM equipment proposals.
  • Design the required conveyor components with necessary calculations to properly integrate the packaging line with optimal machine spacing, accumulation, and operator flow for efficient and effective line design.
  • Interact with vendors using detailed RFQ’s concerning machine/service quotations required for the proposal.
  • Review vendor/inter‑company quotes against client RFQ for scope, quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Establish and nurture a positive and productive working relationship among clients, internal and external vendors, and internal project team members through face‑to‑face meetings, teleconferences, and routine communication.
  • Manage and communicate project revenues, cost, and discounting/incentivizing strategies.
  • Assist with pricing strategy and create price lists; assist with vendor communication in price negotiations.
  • Maintain a dynamic library and product portfolio of quoted and sold solutions for future reference, conduct technical sales training, and ensure marketing collateral is effectively communicated to end users.
  • Monitor quality issues and resolve vendor related problems.
  • Negotiate commercial contract modifications when required.
Who we’re looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or similar combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Estimating/Technical Sales or Project Management, preferably in the packaging or automation industries.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading or designing high‑complexity packaging or capital equipment integration projects preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents.
  • Strong experience using AutoCAD designing entire production lines.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 5‑15% of time; international or Pacific coast clients may require some off‑normal hour interface.
