Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead cost-reduction projects and improve plant performance. You will monitor machine processes, develop work instructions, and train staff to raise OEE across the facility.

The role requires lean manufacturing knowledge, data analysis skills, and experience with SAP/Minitab. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred, with English/Spanish bilingual ability a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial).
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing and Lean methods.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; data analysis skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; strong automation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities of cost reduction projects – write AFE update reports.
  • Monitor and improve machine process, develop work instructions and train employees.
  • Improve OEE across the plant by using downtime tracking tools and creating pareto charts of downtime events.
  • Experience with IIOT or Industry 4.0 to collect data with the latest technology of integrated downtime tracking tools.
  • Participate in implementing safety improvements.
  • Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Assist in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints.
  • Participate in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap.
  • Organize, plan and commission new or modified production lines.
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner.
  • Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability.
  • Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation for integration into the company’s quality system.
  • Provide training to operators, supervisors, and managers on new or modified processes.
  • Manage activities related to facilities maintenance: roof, HVAC, plumbing, internet, docks, rail spur, silo, etc
  • Support overall preventative maintenance programs and provide site with CMMS ownership
  • Manage contractors utilized at facility

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline; preferably manufacturing, mechanical or industrial.
  • Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality improvement methods. Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • SAP & Data Analysis (such as Minitab) experience a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Strong automation experience a plus
