Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the vehicle launch within General Assembly. You will ensure manufacturing readiness, validate new processes and equipment, and drive seamless integration of launch content into a high‑volume production environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with controls, maintenance, and suppliers, optimizing assembly processes, reviewing PLC logic, and maintaining PFMEAs and standard work to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment; internship or co-op qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in manufacturing engineering activities for vehicle launch ensuring safety, quality, and throughput targets.
• Develop, review, and optimize assembly processes for high-volume production, including line balance and workstation design.
• Support equipment integration, commissioning, and acceptance with controls engineers, maintenance, and suppliers.
• Review and troubleshoot PLC logic to support equipment functionality and launch readiness.
• Validate tooling, fixtures, and automation systems; ensure compliance with GM standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Lead issue resolution during launch phases, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support build events, trials, and pilot operations to ensure process capability and product quality prior to ramp-up.
• Maintain documentation including PFMEAs, process sheets, standard work, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with product engineering, quality, operations, and program teams to ensure smooth integration of design changes and launch deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
