Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer–General Assembly Feasibility in Michigan. You will perform GA manufacturing activities for new model and midcycle programs, feeding input to manufacturing simulations and coordinating with Product Engineering to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include designing Design to Manufacturing proposals to optimize Capex, supporting Plant Loading studies, and driving feasibility through plant environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• CAD skills to navigate vehicle tree and tooling.
• Strong knowledge of GA manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office: PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong organizational/project management skills.
• Strong knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
• Self-motivated and able to work under time pressure.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Superior teamwork and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform GA manufacturing activities for new model and midcycle action programs.
• Develop Design to Manufacturing proposals to optimize Capex.
• Support future Plant Loading studies.
• Develop and execute Vertical Integration for Make/Buy alignment.
• Develop detailed Process Maps with Pre-Scroll.
• Ensure Feasibility studies are performed in the Plant Environment.
• Execute Change Management meetings to align product process and tooling.
• Monitor General Assembly KPIs and provide weekly updates to management.
• Travel to assembly plants to support early phases of vehicle launches related to manufacturing feasibility.

TheManufacturing Mechanical Engineer–GeneralAssembly Feasibilitywill develop high visibility weekly updates to Stellantis management. Duties may also include some travel to assembly plants to support early phases of vehicle launchesrelativeto manufacturing feasibility issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degreeinEngineering, preferredMechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with knowledge of manufacturing and plant operations.
• CAD skillsrequiredto navigate to vehicle tree, position tooling & carriers, cut sections/take measurements/manipulate components/load path (Preferred tools: Teamcenter/Vismockup, NX, PLM/Catia)
• Strong knowledge of GA manufacturing processes and tooling
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong organizational/project management skills
• Strong knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)
• Self-motivated and able to successfully achieve results under timepressure
• Ability to work with all levels of management whileestablishingand maintaining lines ofcommunication
