Job summary

Manufacturing Engineer – Stanley Access Technologies, Farmington, CT

Stanley Access Technologies is an industry leader in the manufacturing, installation, and servicing of automatic doors. The Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support to manufacturing operations, focusing on process design, improvement and plant productivity.

What You Will Do
  • Work closely with manufacturing associates to help them meet or exceed daily production targets.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream leadership to execute projects supporting the future state vision.
  • Partner with Design Engineering and Product Management to support New Product Development and its implementation in Manufacturing Operations.
  • Identify, develop and implement manufacturing process improvements that achieve plant Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost targets.
  • Establish manufacturing standards and practices in continuous process improvement and preventive maintenance.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles, drive a Kaizen culture and engage associates in continuous improvement events.
  • Develop, track and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for critical equipment.
  • Identify, justify and implement capital equipment projects.
  • Act as project manager on complex projects, initiating, planning, scheduling and coordinating the overall project and design.
  • Use structured problem‑solving approaches such as A3, 9‑step and 8‑D.
  • Develop and maintain process work instructions and product routings.
  • Provide technical direction to the CNC programming department (a plus).
  • Model, foster and drive Allegion values.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Technology or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related engineering position.
  • Experience applying Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools and Lean Sigma methodology.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to identify complex problems, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
  • Ability to read, interpret and perform from method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, shop schedules, Kanban boards, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to identify components and develop extensive parts knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
