Job summary

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its On-site operation in Cynthiana, KY. You will identify improvements, partner with production and maintenance teams, and lead equipment projects from concept to completion.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline and strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Travel up to 10% and relocation may be authorized; compensation ranges from $81,983 to $100,202 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role or with process equipment is a plus.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
• Experience with capital planning, budget management, and project delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methods.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Data analysis experience with Excel, Minitab, and SQL.
• Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements that enhance safety, quality, service, and productivity.
• Partner with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment and reduce downtime.
• Lead process and equipment improvement initiatives from concept through execution.
• Develop capital project justifications and manage projects to successful completion.
• Support daily manufacturing operations, including EHS activities, MOC, OEE analysis, and performance improvement efforts.
• Investigate defects and process variation using root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects and communicate priorities, timelines, and progress clearly.
• Create and maintain process standards and operational documentation.
• Provide engineering support for assigned manufacturing areas, including occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Your Skills and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
