Oakwood Group in Taylor, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve processes, lead problem-solving efforts, and support new programs in a hands-on, in-office setting. You will partner with Engineering, Production and Maintenance to raise performance, quality and safety across the plant.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a family-owned environment that values teamwork and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or substantial manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading projects, conducting time studies, and implementing process improvements.
• Knowledge of lean principles, PLCs, and vision systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes using Lean and continuous improvement principles.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support new program launches and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support.
• Develop and improve manufacturing documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
