Job summary

Recruiters' Network Inc. in Chicago seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a vertically integrated shop launching a new ERP. You will drive APQP, design fixtures, and own production routers and BOMs during the ERP transition.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing environments, Lean/Six Sigma green/black belts, and experience with ERP systems. Onsite work with a strong focus on process improvements and training for shop floor personnel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a machine shop, sheet metal fabrication, welding or hand assembly.
• Fixture design experience for machining and for manual assembly.
• Production router and BOM experience in an ERP system.
• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, or the experience to match.
• Lean and Six Sigma—Green or Black Belt preferred; significant documented project work will be considered in its place.
• Bilingual Spanish and Power BI are a plus.

Job description

An 85-year-old, family-owned Chicago manufacturer is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. The timing is the interesting part.

They are launching a new product roadmap with several new products a year, and they go live on a new ERP — Infor CloudSuite Industrial — in January. You would lead the APQP work on those launches and build the routers and BOM structure in a fresh system, rather than inheriting someone else's.

The shop is fully vertically integrated: CNC and manual machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding and hand assembly, all under one roof. When something goes wrong, you walk out to the floor and fix it. You are not filing a ticket with a supplier.

Details

$100,000–$115,000 depending on experience

Standard hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, fully onsite in Northwest Chicago. There is some flexibility on start time — as early as 7:00 a.m.
