Job summary

Axion Recruitment in Camden, SC is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements across powder coating, assembly and metal fabrication. You will support production operations and lead continuous improvement initiatives end-to-end.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and GD&T, maintaining routings and BOMs, and collaborating with engineering, quality and supply chain teams to optimize safety, cost, and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling and production workflows.
  • Support powder coating, assembly and metal fabrication operations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain routings, bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support production planning using MRP/MRPII systems.
  • Participate in FMEA and manufacturing risk assessments.
  • Design tools and fixtures for welded component assembly.
  • Investigate production issues and support root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams.

We're recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading metal processing company in Camden, SC.

This is an excellent opportunity to improve manufacturing processes, support production operations and drive continuous improvement across powder coating, assembly and metal fabrication operations.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling and production workflows

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of powder coating, sheet metal or metal fabrication manufacturing
  • Experience with FMEA and continuous improvement methodologies
  • CAD software experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SPC, welding processes or cost analysis is an advantage
