Job summary

Konik recruiting partners with a well-established electronics manufacturer to hire a Manufacturing Engineer for our Blaine, MN site. This hands-on role focuses on defining how products are built, improving manufacturing processes, and collaborating with production and quality teams from design through production launch.

You will support SMT and PCB assembly processes, review drawings and BOMs, and contribute to process documentation, tooling, and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Hands-on experience with electronics manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Experience creating work instructions, tooling, fixtures, or production docs.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, BOMs to determine processes, materials, tooling, and production needs.
• Develop and improve processes for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electronic assemblies.
• Support new product introductions with process development and production readiness.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
• Evaluate methods to improve quality, efficiency, cost, and repeatability.
• Support prototyping and production builds with hands-on engineering support.
• Review engineering changes to keep processes aligned with requirements.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support for SMT and PCB processes when applicable.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues.

Manufacturing Engineer

Blaine, MN | Direct Hire | $75k–$90k

Konik is partnering with an established electronics manufacturer seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and production of cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, and custom interconnect solutions.

This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role for someone who enjoys figuring out how products should be built, improving manufacturing processes, and working closely with production and quality teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will support projects from initial design review through prototyping, production launch, and ongoing manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, specifications, bills of material, and technical requirements to determine manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and production requirements.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, and related electromechanical products.
• Support new product introduction activities, including process development, production readiness, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and documentation.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, address nonconformances, and implement process improvements.
• Evaluate manufacturing methods and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, cost, and repeatability.
• Support prototyping and production builds, providing hands-on engineering support when issues arise.
• Review and implement engineering changes and help ensure manufacturing processes remain aligned with customer requirements.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support related to SMT and printed circuit board/electronic assembly processes when applicable.
• Work with customers, suppliers, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience within an electronics or electromechanical manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with cable assemblies and/or wire harness manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with surface-mount technology (SMT) and electronic assembly manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other technical documentation.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, or production documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to manufacturing challenges.
• Experience within medical device, aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with production, quality, engineering, customers, and suppliers.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent relevant manufacturing experience will be considered.
