Position Overview

Advantage Technical is seeking a hands-on, solutions-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of our high-precision motion control products. In this key role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, ensure product quality, and support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

You will play an integral part in optimizing production workflows, resolving technical challenges, and supporting our operators and technicians in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review product designs for manufacturability, tolerances, quality requirements, and cost-effectiveness.
• Determine fixture and gage requirements for new components; design or procure as needed.
• Create detailed manufacturing documentation including setup sheets, process sketches, and operator instructions.
• Program CNC machines and optimize machining parameters for efficiency, quality, and tool life.
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues on the shop floor in collaboration with machine operators and engineering staff.
• Work directly with a variety of CNC equipment including lathes, machining centers, and mill/turn machines.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and operations teams to drive shop-floor productivity.
• Support and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.
• Assist in training machine operators on procedures, tools, and equipment.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software; experience with design/drawing standards and dimensioning (e.g., GD&T).
• Hands-on experience with CNC mills and lathes; mill/turn machine experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, workholding techniques, and shop-floor practices.
• Solid knowledge of general machine shop measuring tools and practices.
• Strong shop math skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.

This position operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments. Frequent interaction with machines and shop-floor personnel is required. This role involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting of tools or components as needed.
