Job summary

Tharp Consulting is seeking a CAD Designer to create manufacturing-ready designs and documentation for truck bodies, trailers, equipment, and fabricated metal products.

You will produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, develop BOMs, and convert concepts into production-ready outputs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. You will collaborate with production and engineering teams and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Ability to translate sketches and requirements into detailed drawings and 3D models.
• Experience creating BOMs and production documentation.
• Strong collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
• Review designs for manufacturability and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models from sketches and engineering requirements.
• Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and production work packages.
• Convert design intent into production-ready outputs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Mentor and support less experienced team members.
