Job summary

Harris & Co Executive Search seeks a Director of Manufacturing to lead pilot plant operations within its global product technology organization. You will own the safe scale-up of new chemistry and build the team to execute it across production facilities.

You will manage safety, reliability, capital projects and cross-functional teams of engineers and technicians, driving technology transfer and operational excellence in a challenging chemical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• 10+ years managing across Chemical Manufacturing.
• 5+ years leading technical and operations teams.
• Deep knowledge of process safety and hazard analysis.
• Working knowledge of FIFRA, TSCA and RCRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day pilot plant operations with a focus on safety, reliability and operational excellence.
• Direct process engineering work, including mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and process optimization.
• Drive technology transfer of new products and processes into production facilities.
• Oversee production campaigns, trials, maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Maintain process documentation, P&IDs, operating procedures and cost estimates for new product projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM and environmental regulations.
• Lead PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs and incident investigations.
• Recruit, develop and lead a team of engineers, technicians and manufacturing professionals.

We are mandated with a well-established Chemical Manufacturer in the hiring a Director of Manufacturing to lead pilot plant operations within its global product technology organization. In this role, you’ll be the critical link between laboratory innovation and full-scale commercial manufacturing. You’ll own the safe, disciplined scale-up of new chemistry and build the team that makes it happen.

What you’ll do

• Lead day-to-day pilot plant operations with an uncompromising focus on safety, reliability and operational excellence
• Direct process engineering work, including mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and process optimization
