Job summary

ProAmpac in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead inventory valuation, product costing, and month-end close at the Catoosa manufacturing facility. This role directs a finance team and partners with operations to improve cost visibility and financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing accounting background, GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP systems. Competitive compensation and annual bonus available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring accounting or finance staff.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the site's finance and accounting team.
• Own product costing, inventory accounting, and inventory valuation processes.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, labor efficiencies, and overhead absorption.
• Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventories.
• Partner with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational performance.
• Manage monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, rebate accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and operational reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory controls, costing methodologies, and accounting processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and reporting integrity.
