Job summary

Accounting Career Consultants is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant for a rapidly growing global manufacturer in Missouri. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing costing, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and ERP processes, with opportunities to advance into leadership and a Controller role.

The position offers a 10% target bonus (up to 15%), and 100% family medical coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).
• Strong understanding of Standard Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Accounting, Inventory Valuation, Variance Analysis, BOMs, Routings, Production Orders, General Ledger, Financial Reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the company's standard cost system.
• Analyze material, labor, and manufacturing overhead variances.
• Perform monthly inventory and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Review BOMs and routings to ensure costing accuracy.
• Analyze production efficiencies and manufacturing variances.
• Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts.
• Assist with physical inventories and cycle count programs.
• Develop profitability analysis by product line, customer, and manufacturing process.
• Serve as Business Central finance expert and configure costing.
• Create reports, dashboards, and KPIs within Business Central.
• Train users on accounting and inventory processes.
• Work with operations, purchasing, production, and customer service to improve system efficiency.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Develop management reports and KPI dashboards.
