Job summary

Quantum Design in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join the manufacturing finance team. Reporting to the Global Controller, you will analyze manufacturing costs, maintain standard costing, and support monthly and annual close while ensuring accurate inventory valuation and strong internal controls.

Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Finance to turn cost data into actionable insights, drive cost reduction, and improve costing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Five years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost accounting principles.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience supporting month-end close, inventory reconciliations, and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, including materials, labor and overhead.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and update standard costs as needed.
• Prepare cost variance analysis and report findings to management.
• Analyze product profitability and provide recommendations for cost reduction.
• Assist with month-end close and inventory-related processes.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support external audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
