Job summary

Siemens Energy in the United States is seeking a Cost Accountant to support manufacturing finance by providing accurate inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. You will work with production, operations, and finance teams to resolve inventory issues and improve cost visibility.

You will analyze variances, manage journal entries, and contribute to monthly closes using SAP, Excel, Alteryx, and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business with an Accounting emphasis, or related field.
• 1+ years of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing finance, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and SAP/ERP systems.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and reporting tools like Alteryx or Tableau; ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inventory-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
• Analyze inventory balances, variances, costing methods, obsolescence, and NCR stock to identify risks.
• Partner with Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations to investigate discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports and management analyses for US and global stakeholders.
• Support internal/external audit activities with documentation and requested inventory information.
• Utilize SAP, Excel, Alteryx, Tableau to automate analyses and improve reporting capabilities.
