Job description

• Support new program execution, including SOR preparation, forecasting, controls and robotics design, equipment build/run-off, and buyoff
• Assist with designing, constructing, integrating, and installing control systems
• Monitor emerging technologies in PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, robotics, and vision systems
• Manage assigned program deliverables, timing milestones, and status updates
• Provide technical support for existing programs through troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and controls optimization
• Collaborate with senior and lead controls engineers on technical direction and best practices
• Design, review, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment according to GM standards
• Develop, test, and implement advanced process technologies improving efficiency, quality, and safety
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and maintenance partners on controls deliverables and issue resolution

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or plant assignments with demonstrated success delivering technical results in controls or automation
• Strong engineering, critical-thinking, and analytical skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Working knowledge of plant floor systems, including Production Monitoring and Control, Andon Systems, Upload/Download and Compare, Throughput, and Material Call
• Experience with tooling or manufacturing systems
• Familiarity with Common Controls Hardware and Common Controls Software Standards
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and parts design
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs, Fanuc robot programming, and CNC equipment such as Siemens Sinumerik
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with plant floor controls applications, including automation controls design, debug, and implementation on production equipment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and within a team
• Basic project coordination skills, including planning, progress tracking, and risk/issue escalation

• Must be able to meet the role’s full-time onsite requirement
• Must be willing to travel at least 50% or more frequently
