The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) seeks a hands-on Controller to own the monthly, quarterly and annual close across multi‑entity operations. You’ll lead payroll, cost, inventory and fixed assets accounting, drive internal controls, and manage external audits.

Based in Seattle, you’ll build and scale the accounting team as we grow through acquisitions and new mills. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role partners with FP&A and HR, and guides ERP selections and integrations to keep finance systems

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance + active CPA license.
• 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, Big 4 or national firm preferred.
• Currently in a Senior Accounting Manager, Associate Controller, Assistant Controller or Controller role.
• Manufacturing accounting experience including inventory, cost accounting and fixed assets.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and experience owning a full close and external audit.
• Hands-on experience overseeing payroll accounting for hourly and salaried teams.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Seattle area.

Mansioni

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, delivering GAAP financial statements on a predictable timeline.
• Run general ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory and cost accounting, including standard costing and variance analysis for mill production.
• Oversee capitalization and depreciation for mill construction and equipment, including construction-in-progress tracking.
• Design and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures that scale with the business and stay audit-ready.
• Manage the annual financial statement audit and be the main contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
• Partner with FP&A on budgets, forecasts and reporting to the CFO, leadership team and board.
• Oversee payroll accounting for salaried and hourly teams, working with HR and payroll on timekeeping, accruals, and multi-state compliance.
• Lead multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting and eliminations.
• Drive accounting for acquisitions, from due diligence through opening balance sheets and closing integration.
• Lead or co-lead ERP selection and implementation, and bring acquired entities onto our systems.
