Job summary

New Tech Machinery, an AMT operating company, seeks a hands-on Controller to own the plant-level accounting function. This role closes books, manages cash and working capital, and ensures inventory and standard cost integrity while partnering with operations leadership on the floor.

The Controller reports to the VP and supports external reporting at corporate level, with responsibilities spanning tax compliance, audits, and internal controls in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on ownership of monthly close and financial reporting for a plant.
• Knowledge of inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost variance analysis.
• Experience with cash forecasting, working capital management, and multi-state tax filings.
• Strong ERP proficiency and advanced Excel skills; ability to work on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close for the plant, delivering accurate results within the close calendar.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce monthly financial statements and variance commentary for leadership.
• Partner with operations, sales, and engineering to explain results and flag issues.
• Support audits, tax, and insurance requests; maintain internal controls.
