Job summary

Symmetrio is seeking a Controller to lead financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls for a growing medical technology manufacturer in Littleton, MA. The role partners with operations and executives to improve financial visibility and performance.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing accounting experience, a strong cost management background, and leadership across Finance, Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing costing and inventory accounting.
• Experience with standard costing, product costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Ability to develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Strong analytical skills and business insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and analyze performance vs budgets and forecasts.
• Manage cost accounting across manufacturing operations and analyze variances.
• Analyze cost drivers and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Engineering.
• Oversee inventory accounting: raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and reserves.
• Support physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory controls.
• Provide financial analysis for profitability, cost reductions, and capital decisions.
• Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning activities.
• Advise on technical accounting matters (revenue, leases, assets, FX).
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and partners.
