Job summary

London Approach, an established manufacturing company based in Highland, Illinois, seeks a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting across locations. You will lead the accounting team, partner with operations, and manage budgeting, analysis, and processes to drive accuracy and transparency.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting (manufacturing preferred), a Bachelor's in Accounting (CPA a plus), and strong ERP/Data skills. Travel 2-3 times per month is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience supervising employees.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA a plus.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting and business processes.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle and GL Wand a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with accounting and operational teams.
• Willingness to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple locations.
• Supervise accounting personnel for billing, credit support, accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.
• Review month-end and year-end journal entries, account balances, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, analyze variances, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Lead annual budget development, including historical analysis, operating projections, and presentations to leadership.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, project costs, and percentage-of-completion tracking.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, budgets, and forecasts within the ERP system.
• Partner with operational teams to improve accounting procedures and support business decisions.
• Review and approve hourly payroll reports for accounting personnel.
• Travel to other operating locations approximately 2-3 times per month.
