Job summary

ASTEC in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Controller to lead site accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and timely forecasting. This role collaborates with corporate finance and external auditors to maintain GAAP/IFRS compliance and strong financial governance.

The successful candidate will manage month-end close, oversee GL and subsidiary ledgers, and drive budgeting and forecasting processes, while developing a high-performance finance team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in finance with increasing responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP and accounting systems.
• Strong forecasting and budgeting concepts.
• Excellent MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication; leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Manage month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; ensure SOX compliance.
• Lead budgeting, zero-based and rolling forecasts; support site planning.
• Coordinate tax returns and regulatory reporting as needed.
• Supervise A/P, A/R, payroll, and other accounting functions.
• Serve as primary contact with corporate finance and external auditors.
