Job summary

Astec seeks a Controller for our onsite Heatec facility in Chattanooga, TN. The role oversees the accounting operations, monthly closes, and the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.

You will manage budgets, controls, and forecasts to mitigate risk and provide accurate reporting for site and corporate needs. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in finance within manufacturing, with ERP experience and CPA/CMA preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in finance with increasing responsibilities.
• Management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP and accounting systems.
• Strong financial analysis capabilities and ability to manage integrated applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for site and corporate use.
• Manage month-end close by reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; ensure accurate system‑generated transactions.
• Develop and monitor internal controls to comply with GAAP/SOX and regulatory requirements.
• Support site planning to develop accurate sales and net income forecasts.
• Provide periodic financial information for site and corporate reporting.
• Supervise A/P, A/R, payroll, and other accounting functions; ensure timely payments and collections.
• Lead job costing, costing methods and allocation of indirect costs; model scenarios.
