Job summary

Confidential Employer in Odessa, TX, on-site, seeks a seasoned accounting leader to own the full accounting function and partner with executive leadership. You will oversee G/L, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and monthly closings while driving cost accounting improvements for a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with operations to enhance financial visibility, budgeting, and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 1+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• CPA, MBA, ERP implementation experience, and strong cost accounting experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Manage inventory accounting, cost accounting, standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations leaders to improve financial visibility and costing accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
• Support treasury activities, cash forecasting, banking relationships, and financial compliance.
• Lead ERP administration, system improvements, and reporting enhancements.
• Develop KPIs and financial reporting tools that support business decisions.
• Mentor, develop, and lead the accounting team.
