What role you will play in our team

Our Chemical Process Engineers play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a process technical resource, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams.

Process Engineers serve primarily to set longer term visons for unit performance and troubleshooting in addition to supporting day-to-day activities.

What you will do

Serve as a technical leader by:

  • Mentor less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Provide support of abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit Turnarounds
  • Aid in the development of long term vision and strategy for product line improvements
  • Organize and design plant testing and product trials
  • Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authorityWork in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel and interface with corporate technology support
  • Ability to interface with 3rd party vendors (cost optimizations as well as developing/driving solutions)
  • Lead/support incident investigations as technical lead
  • Provide support for developing and implementing various capital projects to drive margin or mitigate SHE risk
  • Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets
  • Demonstrate courage of conviction to drive healthy tension for both business team and corporate technology support to promote fit for purpose outcome
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering
  • 3-10 years of experience in refining and/or chemicals manufacturing roles

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Process design exposure
  • Familiarity with advanced control strategies/optimization software
  • Risk assessment and HAZOP experience
  • Understanding of safety relief limits (modelling and evaluations)
  • Understanding of modelling software (PROII, ASPEN, etc)
