Job summary

Konik is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Buyer to support purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and material availability in a production environment.

The role will manage purchasing activities, maintain supplier communication, support Engineering and Production teams, and ensure materials are available to meet customer demand. A manufacturing background and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems is required.
• Experience with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs is required.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and material planning.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand manufacturing processes and components.
• Ability to communicate with Engineering, Production, Suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical skills to research, organize, and interpret purchasing data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities including purchase orders and supplier communication.
• Monitor lead times and delivery schedules to ensure materials are available for production.
• Work with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, and quality concerns.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to understand component requirements and support product development.
• Identify and qualify suppliers, obtain quotes, and support sourcing decisions.
• Maintain ERP purchasing data including pricing, lead times, and supplier data.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and opportunities to improve purchasing processes.
• Manage vendor-managed inventory programs and supplier relationships.
