Job summary

Hitachi Vantara seeks an experienced engineer to provide hands-on production support, integrating mechanical and software solutions in a manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot in real time, prototype, and deploy practical solutions to improve quality, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support in a manufacturing environment and develop automation, sensing, data acquisition, and control software using Python.
• Integrate systems with OT middleware (Ignition) and workflow tools such as Node-RED.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot machine vision systems using YOLO, OpenCV, and off-the-shelf inspection cameras.
• Work with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and navigation technologies, including LiDAR and AprilTags.
• Use CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design reviews, prototyping, packaging, and DFM.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in development and production environments.
• Document architecture, interfaces, test procedures, and operating standards for scalability and maintainability.
• Drive continuous improvement in system performance, robustness, and deployment readiness.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions for automation and production issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
