Job summary

Watlow is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer II for our Hannibal, MO facility to design and develop next-generation custom manufacturing equipment and upgrade current processes.

You will lead cross-functional projects with engineers and operators, applying automation know-how to deliver world-class manufacturing capabilities that support Watlow's innovative products and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 3–5 years related engineering experience.
• Extensive automation experience with PLCs, HMIs, temperature controllers, vision systems and robots.
• Strong communication skills with customers, suppliers and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size, scope and complexity.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for designing equipment layouts, mechanical components and electrical schematics.
• Lean manufacturing tools knowledge (FMEA, DRBFM, SPC, control charts).

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large projects to develop custom manufacturing equipment, from stand-alone operations to fully automated systems.
• Collaborate within cross-functional operations and engineering teams as a equipment automation SME.
• Design, implement and validate solutions to improve performance of existing equipment.
• Capture manufacturing process and equipment knowledge for reuse across projects and locations.
• Create project plans and budgets for manufacturing equipment initiatives.
