Job summary

Illinois Tool Works Inc. in Cincinnati seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to analyze workflows, optimize equipment layouts, and lead automation projects that improve safety, quality, throughput, and reliability.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and vendors to upgrade controls, troubleshoot PLC-based equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred), and develop layouts. A degree in engineering and 3+ years of factory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field matched to manufacturing engineering.
• Minimum three years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting PLC-based equipment, Allen-Bradley preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workflows, layouts, and labor to improve efficiency.
• Lead automation projects and equipment upgrades from justification to commissioning.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based equipment and control systems, including HMIs and VFDs.
• Work with contractors and suppliers to resolve electrical and controls issues.
• Develop facility and equipment layouts and maintain documentation.
