Job summary

K&K Technical Group in Georgetown, KY is seeking an Assembly SEIBI Technician to support automotive manufacturing operations. You will install, commission, program PLCs, and troubleshoot automated equipment on-site at a high-volume facility.

The role requires hands-on electrical/control experience, with travel up to 50% and overtime as needed. This is a Monday–Friday, on-site position in Georgetown, KY.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance, automation, or electrical controls experience.

• Solid understanding of industrial electrical circuits, control systems, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

K&K Technical Group is seeking an experienced Assembly SEIBI Technician to support automotive manufacturing operations in Georgetown, Kentucky.

This hands-on technical position focuses on industrial equipment installation, commissioning, PLC troubleshooting, and manufacturing automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical controls, equipment startup, and production support within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The technician will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and equipment suppliers to ensure new and modified production equipment meets safety, quality, reliability, and productivity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment.

Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial PLC systems, including Toyopuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi.

Review mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment specifications, and control system designs.

Perform equipment inspections, vendor buyoffs, and functional testing before installation.

Troubleshoot electrical circuits, industrial controls, sensors, and automated equipment.

Support industrial robotics, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

Assist with equipment modifications, process improvements, and production trials.

Troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, FL-Net, and PROFINET.

Verify equipment safety, quality, and performance during installation and startup.

Coordinate with vendors, engineering teams, and maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.

Provide technical training and equipment support to plant maintenance teams.

Support manufacturing equipment installations during overtime, shutdowns, and production changes as needed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance, automation, or electrical controls experience.

Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills with at least one of the following:

Toyopuc

Siemens

Omron

Solid understanding of industrial electrical circuits, control systems, and troubleshooting.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Experience with automated equipment installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning.

Technical degree, trade school certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Ability to travel up to 50% when required.

Willingness to work overtime, including occasional weekends and shutdown periods.

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive manufacturing or high-volume assembly experience.

Experience with industrial robot programming and teaching.

Knowledge of AGV/AMR programming and setup.

Experience with safety scanners, safety circuits, and industrial control systems.

Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, FL-Net, PROFINET, or similar industrial networks.

Previous experience supporting new equipment launches, production startups, or SEIBI activities.

Experience working directly with equipment suppliers during installation and commissioning.

On-site position in an automotive manufacturing facility.

Hands‑on work with industrial machinery and automated equipment.

Requires occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders, standing, bending, and working at heights.

Must be comfortable working in active manufacturing environments.
