Job summary

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE) seeks Manufacturing Associates (Packouts) for Aberdeen, MD, to support packaging, carton assembly, and packout operations on afternoon and overnight shifts.

You will assist a Production Operator with quality checks, line changes, and maintaining a clean, safe production area, while adhering to PPE and lockout procedures and participating in a collaborative WAVE culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours daily.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain carton blanks and form/fold cartons, staple ends, apply labels, and place cartons in packout machine.
• Provide visual monitoring of operation and product quality.
• Analyze malfunctions and perform machine troubleshooting to fix breakdowns or defects.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment at all times.
• Perform work safely; use lock-out procedures during repairs or adjustments; wear PPE and ensure safety equipment is functional.
• Operate overhead bridge crane for loading/unloading raw material and hand-powered tools (training provided).
• Perform related duties as assigned and support a collaborative culture.
• Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.

WAVE is currently looking for Manufacturing Associates (Packouts) to work in Production for afternoon and overnight shifts at our Aberdeen facility.

These positions are responsible for activities associated with the operation of a packout, assembly of cartons and complete packing process for finished goods. The Manufacturing Associate/Packout also assists a Production Operator in performing timely and accurate quality checks, coil changeovers and maintaining overall operations of the production line.

Schedule

• Training will be conducted on day shift for the first few weeks
• Regular shift hours will be:
  • Monday through Thursday 8:30 PM - 6:30 AM
  • Monday through Thursday 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Occasional mandatory overtime may be required based on production needs

Responsibilities

• Duties include obtaining carton blanks, forming/folding cartons, stapling ends, applying labels and placing carton in packout machine.
• Provide visual attention in monitoring operation and quality of product.
• Must be able to analyze any malfunctions and complete machine troubleshooting procedures to correct breakdowns or product defects.
• Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
• Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock‑out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
• Operate overhead bridge crane for loading/unloading of raw material, as well as other hand‑powered tools (training provided).
• Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
• Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.

Desired Experience

• Preferred; knowledge and experience of machinery in a manufacturing environment, or similar.
• Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.
• Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area.
• Background check required.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent in General Studies.
