The Carlstar Group in Clinton, TN is seeking a production supervisor to lead a manufacturing team, operate equipment to meet specifications, and maintain throughput at target rates. You will ensure materials and tooling are ready, monitor quality, perform basic PMs, and coordinate with cross‑functional partners to resolve issues quickly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification on request, and strong verbal and written communication to train staff and report

Job Purpose Statement

In addition, the employee will ensure equipment and materials are available for production, material inventory is maintained, and the area assigned runs efficiently. In addition to the following, shall show growth-minded behavior, responsible behavior, good attitude, and attendance.

Summary Of Responsibility

• Ability to evaluate the needs of the department and self-assign work to optimize the departments output
• Provide oversight and leadership to the production team on the assigned equipment
• Be trained and capable of operating multiple complex pieces of manufacturing equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned
• Operate heavy manufacturing equipment to produce materials to specification requirements
• Learn and follow standard work for all areas as assigned
• Evaluate products through visual and dimensional inspection techniques to ensure conformance to tolerance and specifications and address any quality concerns found.
• Organize, load, and move in process materials and finished products as required to maintain expected efficiencies.
• Recognize when routine adjustments are necessary and identify errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production rework
• Detect and report faulty operation, defective, and/or unusual material, or equipment conditions. Work with support departments to resolve the issue identified.
• Abide by all safety and quality specifications
• Operate powered industrial vehicles
• Check computer for production schedule and requirements for run(s)
• Set-up the machine according to specifications.
• Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of the machine.
• Enter information into MRP system as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Prefer 2 years in a manufacturing/distribution operation

• Critical thinking skills to evaluate complex and changing situations leading to the recommendation and implementation of a course of action
• Able to train quickly through on the job experience with a hands-on approach

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required
• Must read, write, and communicate in English
