Job summary

Twist Bioscience in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to join the Library Production team. You will perform basic molecular biology workflows in a highly automated, high-throughput setting and manufacture/analyze custom gene products to meet production forecasts and timelines.

The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented candidate with experience in manufacturing or relevant lab work, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment while following SOPs

Qualifications

Degree preferred, or relevant laboratory experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in using computers for lab workflows

Responsibilities

Manufacture high-quality bespoke variant libraries in a GMP-like lab following SOPs
Perform PCR, DNA quantitation/handling, DNA purification
Operate robotic and traditional lab equipment (bioanalyzers, centrifuges, thermocyclers, spectrometers)
Document results thoroughly in batch records and databases
Support new molecular biology methods for library fabrication
Update work instructions and ensure process deviations are addressed
Maintain safety and attention to detail in an ISO/LEAN environment
Pack and label finished products

Education

Bachelor/Associate degree in biology/chemistry/biochemistry/molecular biology
