Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate - Finishing/Bindery on a nighttime 7p–7a shift. You will be trained to run high-speed bindery equipment, handling books and printed materials with a focus on quality and safety.

No prior bindery experience is required; we train you. Expect hands-on, fast-paced work, with overtime opportunities and comprehensive benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related training/experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety rules.
• Comfortable using measuring devices and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into high-speed bindery machines.
• Pack books into cartons and prepare for shipping.
• Move materials safely between workstations.
• Perform hand operations as required on the line.
• Collaborate with team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality standards and safety.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem - we'll train you.
We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
