Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate in the finishing/bindery area on the nighttime shift 7p–7a. No bindery experience is required; we will train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.

You’ll perform hands-on tasks such as feeding books into machines, packing finished books, inspecting quality, and following safety and clean-workspace procedures while building a long-term career in print manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders, safety rules, and procedures.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Willingness to learn and train on bindery equipment.
• Reliability and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation

• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem - we'll train you.
We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
