Job summary

Micro-Coax, an Amphenol Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to perform cable assembly, inline inspections, and basic data entry in a manufacturing environment.

You will convert raw materials into finished products, read job orders, and build cables to drawings while maintaining high quality and productivity standards. Safety and teamwork are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and follow drawings.
  • Soldering certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • English reading/writing and basic math skills needed.

Responsibilities

  • Convert raw materials into finished product and build to standard rate.
  • Read job orders and inspect during production to ensure quality.
  • Perform simple cable assembly following drawings and instructions.
  • Operate basic hand tools safely and accurately.
  • Enter data and access documents via computer software.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to improve productivity.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized work area and follow 5S principles.
  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Associate performs manufacturing activities including the production and inspection of product to ensure it meets customer requirements. The Manufacturing Associate will perform simple cable assembly and connector operations to build high-quality products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Convert raw materials into finished product
  • Build product to standard rate
  • Reads job order for product specifications
  • Complete in-process inspections
  • Interface with computer software to find documents and complete data entry.
  • Builds simple point-to-point cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity
  • Demonstrates proper use of basic hand tools: soldering gun, wrenches, hand strippers, trimmers, wire cutters, chop saw, rulers, microscope/magnifier
  • Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of assemblies
  • In conjunction with engineering and quality, make process recommendations and adjustments to increase productivity in the production cell
  • Adopt a total quality mindset and ensure process quality in each step of the manufacturing process
  • Participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities as needed
  • Perform job duties to meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery goal
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner
  • Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations
  • Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Soldering Certification, must be completed within 90 days of hire
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings, and schematics

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas
  • Hearing protection in specific locations
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
