Job summary

Staffmark in San Diego, CA is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for the second shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM). Pay rate is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a fast-paced production environment.

You will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust manufacturing equipment; perform changeovers; inspect components and finished products; and document production data. Strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork throughout the shift.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required for export compliance.
  • Minimum of 2 years manufacturing, production, assembly, or machine operation experience.
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, verniers, gauges).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to cross-train across production areas; Lean/5S knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to lift, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks; safety and quality focused.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust manufacturing equipment to meet production and quality goals.
  • Perform machine changeovers, tooling changes, and basic equipment adjustments as required.
  • Assemble components and finished products per work instructions and specs.
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards.
  • Use precision instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Package finished products, label, and stage materials for shipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels and organize production materials.
  • Complete required production documentation and quality records.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Production teams to improve processes.
  • Cross-train in multiple production areas as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe work environment and PPE compliance.

Job Duties
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust manufacturing equipment to meet production and quality goals.
  • Perform machine changeovers, tooling changes, and basic equipment adjustments as production requirements change.
  • Assemble components and finished products according to work instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, verniers, and gauges, to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Package finished products, create labels, and stage materials for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and organize production materials within the work area.
  • Complete required production documentation, quality records, and performance tracking reports.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Production teams to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.
  • Cross-train in multiple production areas and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Safely work with approved manufacturing chemicals while following established procedures.
  • Meet daily production, efficiency, quality, and attendance expectations.
