Manufacturing Associate

Job Summary

Responsible for various tasks throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient and safe production of wood components and finished goods. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards within a woodworking environment.

Essential Functions
  • Operate and maintain various woodworking machinery and tools, including saws, sanders, routers, and CNC equipment, ensuring proper setup and safe operation.
  • Select, measure, and cut wood materials to precise dimensions, minimizing waste and ensuring accuracy.
  • Assemble wood components using hand tools, power tools, and adhesives, adhering to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products and components, identifying and reporting defects or inconsistencies.
  • Load and unload materials, components, and finished products, often requiring lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, including counting, stocking, and organizing raw materials and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and troubleshoot issues.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions or repair needs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in operating various hand and power tools common in woodworking.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately measure materials.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
  • Forklift certification is a plus but not required (training may be provided).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment may involve exposure to wood dust, noise, and machinery.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
