Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process checks (fit, alignment, torque, thread engagement) and record results.
  • Install seals and gaskets as specified to ensure function and pressure integrity.
  • Complete and sign off travelers, build sheets, and inspection records for traceability.

Overview

Taurus Engineering is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to build, fit, and assemble equipment components and finished products to engineering specifications. This role reads drawings and work instructions, assembles parts using hand and power tools, and verifies fit, torque, and function at each stage of the build. The ideal candidate has hands‑on mechanical assembly experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical components and sub‑assemblies (e.g., wellhead, downhole, or connector‑type products) according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and job travelers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of material (BOMs) to select correct parts, sequence, and hardware.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic/power tools, and torque wrenches to fit, fasten, and secure components to specified torque values and tolerances.
  • Perform in‑process checks (fit, alignment, torque, thread engagement) and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, or gauges as required.
  • Install seals, O‑rings, gaskets, and other sealing components per specification to ensure proper function and pressure integrity.
  • Complete and sign off job travelers, build sheets, and inspection records to maintain traceability for each unit assembled.
About You
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced production environment handling tools and performing critical operations
  • Possess a wide range of technical skills including but not limited to fastener/torque applications, testing, mechanical familiarity, and assembly operations
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production
