Job summary

Siemens is hiring a Gear Technician to assemble, disassemble, and inspect gear components for rail traction products. You will read drawings, use precision tools, and ensure parts meet exact specifications. Collaboration with engineers and safety-focused practices are essential.

Shifts run Monday–Thursday, with a sign-on bonus of $1,000 for eligible hires. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to work in a non-climate-controlled environment as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics and practical applications.
  • Clear English communication and accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of EH&S regulations, product standards, and assembly procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of production processes.
  • Familiarity with machines, power tools, and tool maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble gearboxes by mounting housings and components as specified.
  • Use hand and power tools to align, fit, fasten, drill, and tap parts per schematics.
  • Read schematics, blueprints, and work orders; verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust units to meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Record information, keep work areas clean, and maintain tool inventory.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers; participate in 6S audits and safety walks.

As a Gear Technician, you will assemble, disassemble, and clean gear components; operate production equipment; and use drawings and established guidelines to deliver products that meet exact quality specifications.
