Overview

The Assembler position at Cook Inc. involves assembling medical devices according to written specifications and manufacturing instructions.

As a manufacturing assembler, you will play an essential role in helping patients worldwide receive the medical devices they need. Your work will have a meaningful impact, allowing you to help others in need.

Location and Shift:

Ellettsville, IN: 3/12-hour shifts - Friday-Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm

Responsibilities

  1. Assemble medical devices following specifications and instructions, complying with quality policies
  2. Complete quality work at acceptable departmental/production rates
  3. Work independently or in teams effectively
  4. Communicate professionally across various organizational levels
  5. Maintain accurate documentation
  6. Read and follow product specifications and drawings
  7. Handle small, intricate parts and tools/machines
  8. Build products through various tasks like cutting, gluing, bonding
  9. Set up and operate production machines as needed
  10. Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  11. Perform basic arithmetic calculations
  12. Inspect products visually for non-conformances
  13. Verify raw materials
  14. Report quality issues to management
  15. Occasionally use magnifying devices and work with chemicals like adhesives and alcohols

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or participating in a Cook-sponsored program
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship not provided

Physical Requirements

  • Visual acuity of 20/40 with or without correction
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Repetitive motions frequently
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Ability to read instructions in English
  • Frequent use of hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, communication
  • Proper attire and PPE as required
