Job summary

Jasper Holdings Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to partner with leadership at Jer-Den Plastics, a $10M manufacturing company in Saint Louis, MI.

The role will oversee monthly close, inventory accounting, budgeting, and financial planning, with an emphasis on improving profitability and internal controls. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, provide insights to leadership, and supervise accounts payable/receivable functions.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading month-end close activities.
• Ability to analyze financial results and communicate findings to non-financial leaders.
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly accounting close process in coordination with the holding company.
• Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate and compliant with GAAP.
• Analyze monthly operating results and provide insights to company leadership.
• Partner with the President to review financial performance, trends, and profitability.
• Oversee inventory accounting and collaborate with operations to improve accuracy and controls.
• Support and provide leadership to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, reporting processes, and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial planning activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Coordinate annual audits and external reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary accounting resource for the business and liaison with the holding company.
