Job summary

SOMACIS, Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Poway. This role focuses on accounts receivable, invoicing, payment application, customer account maintenance, and collections follow-up.

You will also support accounts payable and other accounting functions, with opportunities to grow into month-end close, reconciliations, audits, and reporting using SAP and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of SAP a plus.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer invoices
• Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
• Maintain worksheets to insure all bank requirements are met for all receivables accounts
• Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances
• Assist with account reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries as assigned
• Maintain organized accounting documentation
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Assist with audits
• Prepare reports in Excel
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned
