Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in manual software testing (web and/or mobile applications).
• Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing methodologies.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Experience with defect tracking and lifecycle management (JIRA/HP ALM/Bugzilla).
• Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation and API testing basics with REST.
• Experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Cross-browser and cross-platform testing across devices and environments.
• Ability to document and report test results and maintain test artifacts.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Experience

What You Should Know:

• 2 to 5 years of experience in manual software testing (web and/or mobile applications).

Testing Knowledge

• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience in functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Knowledge of black-box testing techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, etc.).

Test Case Design

• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Experience in creating test plans and test strategy documents.

Defect Management

• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or HP ALM.
• Strong understanding of defect lifecycle and severity/priority classification.

Database Knowledge

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL queries for validating backend data.

API Testing (Basic)

• Familiarity with REST API testing using tools like Postman (preferred).

Cross-Browser / Cross-Platform Testing

• Experience testing applications across multiple browsers, devices, and operating systems.

Documentation & Reporting

• Ability to prepare test execution reports and maintain test documentation.
