Responsibilities

Job description

Job Summary

The Manual Press Operator is responsible for operating manual press equipment to install threaded inserts into pressing carbon fiber and components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position ensures products are manufactured accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining established production schedules. This position works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment. The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
  • Operate manual press equipment to install threaded inserts into finished plates and manufactured components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
  • Verify proper alignment, placement, and installation of threaded inserts.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine measurements using calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report completed work.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of manual press equipment.
  • Ensure materials, hardware, and inserts are available before beginning production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area using 5S or similar housekeeping practices.
  • Assist with other manufacturing and assembly operations as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or manual press operation experience preferred.
  • Experience installing threaded inserts or similar hardware is preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Mental Requirements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Ability to safely operate manual press equipment.
  • Ability to use measuring tools, including calipers and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
