Job summary

Sofidel America, part of the Sofidel Group, seeks a Converting Packaging Operator for our Las Vegas facility. You will operate, set up, and maintain packaging equipment to ensure products meet customer and company standards.

Responsibilities include adhering to safety policies, performing routine equipment checks, and documenting issues. The role requires basic computer skills and PPE usage, with growth opportunities in a collaborative plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills to operate packaging systems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and manuals.
• Strong math skills for measurement, counting and tolerances.
• PPE required in plant and warehouse areas (safety shoes, eye/ear protection, vests).

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up and maintain packaging equipment to meet quality specs.

Sofidel America is a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, one of the leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide. We are currently seeking aConverting Packaging Operatorto join our team in Las Vegas Blvd.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining packaging equipment and processes to ensure the production of finished products that meet both customer and company requirements. The Converting Packaging Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to health & safety and company policies at all times.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures and utilize required PPE.
• Never bypass or disconnect safety devices on equipment while in operation.
• Immediately address and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Participate in accident investigations as needed.
• Support Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP standards.
• Apply customer specifications to machine operation for quality compliance.
• Perform regular equipment audits to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Conduct quality checks with honesty and integrity.
• Report non-conforming products to shift supervisor and management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize contamination risks.
• Operate machinery at maximum efficiency.
• Set up equipment for optimal performance.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Strong mathematical skills for measurement and calculations.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in plant and warehouse areas.
• PPE includes safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, and hairnets or hats.
• Variable temperatures in the plant/warehouse.
• Exposure to paper dust and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
